The Pan African University Institute for Water and Energy Sciences, including climate change (PAUWES), celebrated the graduation of its seventh cohort. A total of 61 students from 21 African countries received their degrees during a graduation ceremony held at the auditorium of the University of Tlemcen on Thursday, November 30, 2023.
The graduation students and their guests were welcomed and addressed by the Wali of Tlemcen Wilaya, the rector of Pan-African University, Pr. Jean Koulidiati, the cultural attaché at the German Embassy in Algeria, the director of PAUWES, Pr. Zerga Abdellatif, and the rector of the University of Tlemcen, Pr. Meghachou Mourad.
The PAUWES has trained disciplined experts in the field of water and energy with the high hopes of its graduates becoming the solution to the continent's unending challenges in water and energy. This goal is being achieved through diversity and gender mainstreaming, which have become hallmarks of the PAUWES institute. The PAUWES students have also completed international internships in the private and public sectors at renowned research institutions across Africa and beyond.
